MEET DR. DAVIS

THE WESTSIDE ADVANTAGE

We’re a Dentist’s best friend (and your patient’s too). We believe in going the extra mile when it comes to service and with our extensive training, we truly understand the best methods for preserving natural teeth. Having Westside as a partner, as your Calgary Root Canal and Implant Placement Specialists, will allow for the successful treatment of more challenging endodontic cases and areas where placement of dental implants may require bone augmentation procedures or a sinus lift. Think of our office as an extension of your dental office. We’ll work with you to do everything possible to preserve your client’s natural teeth.

Dr. Shannon Davis

DMD, MBA, MSc, FRCD(c)

Prior to commencing graduate studies at UBC, Dr. Davis worked as a general dentist in Calgary for over a decade. She owned her own practice in downtown Calgary and then after the birth of her daughter, practiced as an associate dentist.

A proud Calgarian and community volunteer, Shannon has served as a board member for non-profit organizations including the Calgary & District Dental Society where she served as president in 2020-2021.

In her spare time, Dr. Davis enjoys golfing, long walks and downhill skiing with her husband and daughter. She  has also performed volunteer dentistry in Jamaica and Honduras.

LOGO MEANING

Our logo symbolizes what Dr. Davis does and who she is. If you look at our logo from afar, you can see the outline of a tooth and on the inside is a form of Haida Gwaii First Nations art. Dr. Davis is First Nations and has had the opportunity to perform dental treatment for the Haida Gwaii First Nation while completing her Endodontic specialty at UBC. The owl also symbolizes wisdom and insight, which is what we count on to treat challenging teeth.

WHY WESTSIDE

Westside Endodontics was originally opened out of a colleague’s practice, which was located on the WEST side of Calgary. The plan was to build a practice in a nearby location but due to the flood in 2013 many of the sites initially found in the west were no longer available. Our current location offers accessible, free patient parking, is wheelchair accessible, and best of all easy to find. We just couldn’t bear to part with our name and logo, so we have decided to keep it despite the contradiction.
